Position Details

As a Specialist in Older Persons Mental Health, you will:
✅ Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and care for older adults with complex mental health conditions.
✅ Work across inpatient and community settings, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
✅ Participate in an on-call roster and contribute to governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
✅ Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to postgraduate training programs.
✅ Engage in research activities and maintain strong academic links with leading universities.

Job Details

📌 Full-time, permanent position
💰 Salary: AUD $305,300 - $404,970 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Requirements

✅ Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, with specialist registration in psychiatry (AHPRA).
✅ Essential Skills & Experience:

• Advanced training in Psychiatry of Old Age (Certificate of Advanced Training preferred).
• Experience in inpatient and community psychiatric care for older adults.
• Ability to provide ECT services and fulfil statutory and credentialing requirements.
• Strong leadership, supervision, and teaching capabilities.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and recovery-focused care.
